James M. Stelling
Chairman
 

Mr. Stelling is the Chairman of Harbor Bank Group and is chief executive officer of The GEL Group, Inc. He serves on several boards, including Roper Hospital and Porter Gaud School. He was formerly on the board of Charleston Rotary Club, Trident Chamber of Commerce, the Vestry of St. Philip's Episcopal Church, and other non profit organizations and civic groups. Mr. Stelling is a graduate of the University of Virginia.

Thomas F. Hartnett

Mr. Hartnett is the chairman of Harbor National Bank. He is the president of Hartnett Realty Co., which he established in 1962. Mr. Hartnett is a former U.S. Congressman from the First District of South Carolina, South Carolina State Senator and Member of the State House of Representatives. He is also a former member of the board of directors for the South Carolina State Ports Authority and SouthTrust Bank, Charleston, SC.

Lester A. Butler

Prior to Mr. Butler's retirement in 2002, he was the State Chief Executive Officer for SouthTrust in South Carolina and had previously been chairman of the board. Mr. Butler brings 39 years of experience in banking and has been involved in the creation of three other new banks located in Greenville, Columbia, and Charleston, SC.

Charlie Rivers was formerly Charleston market chief executive officer for SouthTrust Bank. Charlie is a native of Charleston and has over 25 years of banking experience in the Charleston market and is an active member of the Charleston Community. He is a graduate of the University of South Carolina.

Robert D. Fairey

Mr. Fairey is President and Founder of Trident Construction Company, Inc., which was incorporated in 1981. Trident is one of the largest general contractors in Charleston, and it performs a wide range of commercial and industrial construction. Mr. Fairey serves as a director of Porter-Gaud School and Charleston Interstate Development Corporation.

Andrew K. Epting, Jr.

Mr. Epting is an attorney in private practice with Andrew K. Epting, Jr. LLC, specializing in commercial litigation and coverage litigation. He has been with the firm since 1977. Mr. Epting graduated from Wake Forest University (B.A.), University of South Carolina, International Relations (M.A.) and University of South Carolina Law School (J.D.).


Cynthia Jordan Lowery

Ms. Lowery is a member of Moore & Van Allen, PLLC specializing in bankruptcy and experienced in all areas of collections, foreclosures and execution of judgments. She is a member of the South Carolina State Bar, the Charleston County Bar Association, and the North Carolina Bar.
Ms. Lowery is a native of Charleston and graduate of the College of Charleston and the Wake Forest Law School.

John G. Boatwright, Jr., M.D.

Dr. Boatwright is an ophthalmologist specializing in cataract surgery and comprehensive medical and surgical eye care. He has been in private practice in Charleston since 1990. Dr. Boatwright is a founding member of Carolina Eyecare Physicians, LLC. He is a graduate of Washington & Lee University (B.S.), the University of Virginia School of Medicine (M.D.), and he completed his residency at the Medical University of South Carolina.

James J. Kerr

Mr. Kerr is president and chief executive officer of AMCS, a Charleston headquartered real estate investment and property management company. He has been a licensed Real Estate Broker since 1965. Mr. Kerr currently serves on several non-profit boards including Star Gospel Mission and the Lady of Mercy Outreach. He is a graduate of the Citadel.

 

William C. Walters, III
Director

Mr. Walters has been a harbor pilot with the Charleston Branch Pilots' Association since 1991. He is a partner and director of Charleston Navigation Company. He is former assistant vice president of C&S National Bank in Charleston and a former advisory board member at Wachovia Bank. Mr. Walters graduated from The Citadel in 1983 with a BS degree in Business Administration.
